Entering our apprenticeship is the best way to start your career as a carpenter, millwright, pile driver or floor coverer. Most people who start this program have never worked in construction before. You don’t need to know everything coming in. What matters is showing up, being willing to learn, and putting in the effort. The training, support, and mentorship are there to help you succeed.

Our apprenticeship is a four-year program that will have you working on real job sites and in our state-of-the-art training centers. Our apprentices can expect:

What You’ll Do
Our members are involved in building some of the most important structures in our communities. You might find yourself working on a school, a hospital, a bridge, or a major commercial project. Some days you could be framing, other days installing systems or finishing spaces. It’s hands-on work, and no two days look the same.

Do I need experience to apply?
No. The program is designed for beginners. We provide all the training you need.
Do apprentices get paid?
Yes. Apprentices earn wages while on-the-job training, with increases over time. Apprentices have four weeks of classa year, these few weeks are unpaid.
Do apprentices get benefits?
You’ll have access to healthcare and long-term retirement benefits, including a pension and annuity as you advance in the program.
How long is the apprenticeship?
Programs typically last several years, combining on-the-job training and classroom instruction.
What can I do after completing the program?
You can work as a journeyman carpenter and pursue leadership roles or specialized career paths.
Will I receive a certification?
Yes. Graduates earn a U.S. Department of Labor–recognized certification upon completing the apprenticeship.
Is there training after graduation?
Yes. You can continue taking free upgrade classes throughout your career to build new skills and advance.
